Funky Elephant – Award-Winning Caribbean Street Food with a Twist
Funky Elephant began its journey in 2015 in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, with nothing more than an idea, passion, and a little bit of crazy – the perfect recipe for success. Since then, we’ve grown into one of the UK’s most exciting street food vendors, bringing authentic Caribbean flavours with a fresh, modern twist to food lovers across the country.
Our street food is made using our award-winning products, including the UK’s only Great Taste Award-winning Jerk Marinade – a true game-changer in the Caribbean food scene. With five Great Taste Awards from the Guild of Fine Food, we pride ourselves on delivering bold, mouth-watering dishes packed with flavour and quality.
Over the years, Funky Elephant has catered private parties for A-list celebrities, ITV and Apple, and served at incredible events such as St Albans Comedy Garden and BBC Countryfile Live. We’ve also featured in music videos for Jorja Smith, Ghetts, AJ Tracey, and Not3s, and collaborated with Pip Millet and Rachel Ama to bring exciting vegan food truck experiences to life.
From festivals and street food markets to exclusive private catering, Funky Elephant continues to push boundaries with authentic Caribbean cuisine, made with love, passion, and a taste of something unforgettable.
Our Story
Our Story – Funky Elephant
Every great journey starts with a spark of passion – and that’s exactly how Funky Elephant was born. Back in 2015, in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, what began as a small idea and a few homemade recipes quickly grew into a unique street food brand with a flavour-packed vision.
Since then, we’ve proudly become a recognised name on the UK street food scene, blending authentic Caribbean recipes with creative twists that surprise and delight. Along the way, our hard work has been celebrated with multiple Great Taste Awards, including recognition for our one-of-a-kind Jerk Marinade – the only award-winning version in the country.
Our food has taken us far, opening doors to cook for household names, major brands, and unforgettable events. From private celebrity parties and corporate events for ITV and Apple, to festival stages like St Albans Comedy Garden and BBC Countryfile Live, our journey has been as vibrant as our dishes. We’ve even made appearances in music videos and teamed up with exciting talent like Pip Millet and Rachel Ama to bring fresh ideas to life.
Funky Elephant is more than just street food – it’s years of dedication, bold flavours, and a love of sharing Caribbean-inspired food that leaves a lasting impression.
