Our Story

Founded in 2018 by Akhil Patel, Amala Chai began after a trip to the Himalayas reignited his love for authentic masala chai. Starting as a small stall on Brick Lane, Amala Chai grew into a movement — sourcing directly from small farms in India, paying fairly, and brewing every cup fresh on the stove. Today, Amala Chai serves markets across London, connecting farmers, chaiwalas, and tea lovers through tradition, community, and flavour.
