Manchester's Christmas Markets return 6 November to 22 December 2026, running every day across the city centre. It's one of the UK's largest spread-out Christmas markets — rather than one big site, it's split across roughly nine separate locations, each with its own character.
Where the markets are
The main sites are Albert Square, Piccadilly Gardens, King Street, Exchange Square, Market Street, New Cathedral Street, St Ann's Square, the Corn Exchange, and Cathedral Gardens — with Lincoln Square joining for the first time in 2026. Albert Square is traditionally the largest and busiest, with the highest concentration of food stalls; King Street and St Ann's Square tend to be quieter and more focused on gifts and crafts.
What to eat
Expect the usual Christmas market staples spread across the different sites — bratwurst and other German sausages, mulled wine, pretzels, crepes, and hot chocolate — plus a good spread of vegan and gluten-free stalls, which Manchester's markets are known for compared to some other UK cities.
Planning your visit
Because the market is spread across multiple sites rather than one enclosed area, it's worth planning a route rather than trying to see everything in one go — Albert Square to Piccadilly Gardens to Market Street makes a reasonably compact loop through the city centre. All sites are free to enter.
