Elephant & Castle is preparing to welcome a new destination for independent street food. The Elephant Exchange Food Hall is scheduled to open on Thursday 12 November 2026 in the newly redeveloped town centre, with a mix of international kitchens, a bar, coffee and space for families. Here is what has been confirmed ahead of opening—and what visitors should still check.

Where is Elephant Exchange?
You'll find the food hall at 12–18 Ragstone Street, Elephant & Castle, London, in the new town-centre development close to Elephant & Castle railway and Tube stations. The operator is Blend Family, the hospitality group behind food halls including Tower Bridge Collective in London and Cutlery Works in Sheffield.
The venue is still preparing to open, so don't travel expecting to eat there before 12 November 2026. See the official Elephant Exchange website for launch updates and directions.

What food will be available?
The operator has described plans for 14 independent kitchens, alongside a central bar, coffee shop and children's play area. Not every kitchen has been announced publicly yet. Two food partners are named on its official website:
Hakka Village: Malaysian-Chinese comfort food
Hakka Village draws from Malaysian hawker traditions and Southern Chinese cooking. Its announced dishes include crispy fried chicken with house-made sauces and rich coconut laksa. The concept is rooted in a family food-business heritage spanning China, Malaysia, Hong Kong and the UK.
Fuego 1987: Tacos and birria ramen
Fuego 1987, founded by Hamza, brings American-Mexican fusion food to the hall. Its signature dishes include tacos and birria ramen, with slow-cooked beef consommé. The brand says its menu is halal and includes plant-based options; visitors with dietary needs should ask staff about individual dishes and preparation.
The official food-partner page will be the best place to check new announcements as the opening approaches. We will update this guide as further operators are confirmed.

Why this opening matters
Elephant & Castle is changing quickly, and a food hall with multiple independently operated kitchens gives visitors a chance to compare cuisines in one location. For local food businesses, it also offers a model for growing a distinct brand within a shared venue.
Families can look out for the planned play area, while workers and students may be interested in the coffee offer and daytime seating. The venue says it intends to host events and pop-ups as well as everyday dining.
